Wharves, Floats, Slips and Ramps

As our name implies, building wharves is our mainstay. We are well known for the quality of construction that goes into every one we build. A wharf by Atlantic Wharf Builders will look great and stand up to years of use and weather.

Concrete Tie Wharves

Conrete Tie Wharf Construction

Concrete tie wharves are our specialty. Using concrete ties to build the wharf cribs is more environmentally friendly than using treated railway tie timbers. They also tend to stand up much better to the damaging effects of ice in the winter and are not susceptible to worms and rot.

Wooden Timber Wharves

Wooden Timber Wharf Construction

A traditional wooden timber wharf is not quite as costly as a conctrete tie one. In areas not too prone to ice flows in winter they can be a good alternative to concrete. Consult with us on your needs and your budget and we can help determine if wood or concrete is best for your application.

Floating Docks, Slips and Ramps

Floats and Ramps

Many wharf systems employ a floating platform that can rise and fall with the tide. We use sealed plastic containers for our float systems. These are much more durable and longer lasting than foam. Floats can be fitted with various attachments such as swim ladders, bumper rails, cleats, etc.

  • Floating docks can be built to any size to accomodate your needs.
  • Slip systems can be designed to any configuration for commercial docks or smaller private wharves.
  • Ramps are built strong to ensure your float stays secure in high winds.
